Montana Conversations Philosophy Program at Bridges HCC: Navigating the Aging Process
April 3 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
We are delighted to be presenting a hand-tailored version our Montana Conversations program “Philosophy: What Is It Good For?”at Bridges HCC! Bridges Buffet (formerly known as Pathways Buffet and Lunch and Learn) is part of the life enrichment & wellness services that Helena Community Connections offers to the community. It features a catered buffet lunch accompanied by guest speakers (in this case, us!) who discuss and explore “timely, appropriate and dynamic topics related to abundant second chapter living.”
What Will We Be Exploring?
Our April gathering will be looking at philosophy, what it’s good for, and how it can enrich our lives. Here is a general overview of what will be discussed, as well as some hand-tailored elements that will be incorporated.
General Overview: Philosophy is oft deemed as impractical, inaccessible, and irrelevant to our everyday lives. But nothing could be further from the truth. This program is an attempt to uproot these characterizations and reveal a more accurate representation of philosophy as a way of life and something that is valuable, relevant, inspiring…and yes, fun! Interactive and dynamic, this program is geared for community members of all ages interested in learning more about how philosophy can help enrich our lives…and why it is good for “absolutely everything!”
Hand-Tailored Elements: As part of our presentation at Bridges Buffet, we will be looking at why philosophy is such a great companion and how it can help us navigate the aging process in ways that inspire and contribute to critical, creative thought, imagination, curiosity, humor, compassion, courage & grace.
