A storytelling event for youth that featured heartwarming tales starring animals such as coyote, raven, wolf, and more. Weaving story, song, dance, and community together, our storytellers — Louise Fischer & Shane Doyle — invited youth to imagine, wonder, question, and play, and learn more about indigenous perspectives on the enlightening & enchanting role of animals in our lives and collective history. In this mini-symposium facilitated by community philosopher we talked with guest panelists and authors Christopher Preston & Robert Frodeman about growth policy, wildlife, and the environment. The symposium was a collaborative project sponsored & co-hosted by community partner Lewis & Clark Library and was structured in a way that gave panelists time to discuss some of their research & work, and ample time for community Q & A, as well as questions posed to panelists by the facilitator. Inspired by Evelyn’s current reserach and the question “what do we owe the biosphere?,” we considered questions having to do with outdoor recreation, bio-tech, and ethical decision-making.
