What we offer
Philosophy in the Community Activities
We offer a broad spectrum of unique, fun & accessible opportunities for people to do, breathe & live philosophy. Our free programs are opportunities for people of all backgrounds and ages (from children to elders) to gather, to learn from and with one another, and to uniquely cultivate their personal and civic selves.

Special Programs
Special Public philosophy Project
An innovative public philosophy program exploring the role of art in society & our everyday lives. Featuring a unique blend of live music, story, performance & media art, and community conversation, the program invites people to consider the nature and purpose(s) of art as social commentary, and its relationship to human flourishing and personal, civic, and cultural change.
Philosophy Fellowships
Merlin Fellowships are unique opportunities for scholars/students to cultivate their philosophical sides under the mentorship of our Fellowship team. The program is specifically designed for students/community scholars in Helena (and nearby areas) who value critical, creative thinking, have a knack for (or would like to develop a knack for) communicating complex and nuanced ideas in non-technical terms, believe in the importance of sharing ideas and broadening perspectives, and have a strong compassion for humanity and the environment. Fellowships include a modest honorarium and publication on the Merlin website and other forums, as applicable. The program offers fellows a chance to work with a variety of thinkers, to apply philosophy to their own lives and areas of focus, and to partake in the practice of community philosophy.
