Critical Thinking & Addiction Recovery

hope_addictionThe ability to think clearly and logically is an asset for humans from all walks of life.  This is especially the case for those who are recovering from an addiction. Why?  Gut feelings and (oft) irrational beliefs are frequently the “weapon of choice” for addicts and important factors in what propels addiction.  This is in contrast to critical thinking, which (generally speaking), is the opposite of the type of thinking that most addicts have learned to rely on.   From a recovery standpoint, those who can think critically not only make better decisions, but may also find the whole process of dealing with difficulties to be easier.  Read more…
