Flamenco Night at Free Ceramics: Celebrating Music & Community

We so enjoyed our Flamenco Night at Free Ceramics.  The night was lovely and we were delighted to see so many of our friends and fellow community members come out for the eve (especially given that the event was so impromptu)!

Thank you Lliam for your superb musical stylings!  Thank you Emily & Matt for accommodating on such short notice!!  You and your team are superstars!  Thank you Ross & Marie for being such stellar and generous hosts!  Thank you Steven & Martin for serving as the most extraordinary sommeliers!  And thank you all for coming to share and celebrate a night of community and music with us…and for supporting philosophy in the community.

A Bit About the Artist

Known for his inventive original compositions and passionate performances,  St. Louis, MO-based flamenco guitarist & composer Lliam Christy, played a hauntingly beautiful & intriguing mix of traditional Flamenco along with Brazilian, Cuban Classical, Popular and some surprises.

“Engaging my audience and sharing my music is what energizes and inspires me. My lifetime of studying music, flamenco, and music from other parts has shaped my musical voice, my compositions and sound as a whole.” — Lliam Christy

After living in Madrid in 2013, Lliam has been based out of Los Angeles, CA & St Louis, MO.   As a result, he has been involved in some great projects and collaborations including: Accompanying Pop singer Pia Toscano (American Idol), Morrocan Roll (a Flamenco/ Middle Eastern fusion), SEiX (A gypsy/fusion group with Ursula Knudson and Fabrice Martinez of Fishtank Ensemble), The Reventones (his own group), and occasionally playing with Cuban Maestro Lazaro Galarraga in Sitara Son.  Most recently, in November of 2017 and February of 2018, Lliam performed as the featured guitarist in the award-winning play “Man of La Mancha” in San Luis Obispo, CA under the direction of Bree Valle at Cuesta College.
