Understanding ourselves and the world we live in is critical to our well-being – as individuals and communities. The questions (and answers) that arise from this sort of seeking — why we do the things we do, how we make meaning of our experiences in the world, what things we ought to strive for and how to best go about navigating life – fall largely within the domain of the humanities. It is for these reasons alone (though certainly many more arguments in favor of the humanities can be made), that funding for the humanities is imperative. About Humanities Montana
Humanities Montana is an independent, nonprofit affiliate organization of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) that provides support for educational and cultural public programs throughout the state.
As a humanities organization, they believe in the capacity of history, literature, philosophy, religious studies, and more to stimulate reflection, create knowledge, resolve problems, and inspire delight. They provide and support numerous public programs that encourage critical thinking, examine civic issues and other issues of concern, and deepen our understanding of where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re going. Their mission is to enrich the lives of all Montanans by fostering inquiry and stimulating civil and informed conversations about the human experience.

We are so grateful to Humanities Montana and the National Endowment for Humanities for awarding our organization a CARES grant. Given the very challenging financial times so many of us are facing right now (and will be for the unforeseeable future), this grant is a life saver!
